It has been so fulfilling to perform same sex weddings.  When the law changed in New Mexico in 2013, many gay and lesbian couples decided to upgrade from “domestic partnership” to full-fledged marriage so they could receive the same benefits that hetero couples have always enjoyed.

I always cried at weddings.  I continue to get misty every time I am able to pronounce a couple as legally wed, especially after fighting for equal rights for so long.  It is an honor and a privilege to be a part of history being made.
